Is there anything to gain from sex?

Hi my people!I have pondered on this very question over the years. And by the way, I'm very close to 50 already. I've sincerely wondered what is there to gain from sex other than to procreate descendants. So, if you're not really kin about raising kids that will be biologically yours, what do you need sex for? From experience, the excitement that goes with sex is most often momentary. I have tried life without sex and found it far more exciting particularly for spiritual growth. Am I gone crazy?
